Learn how to prepare Sea Moss

What is Sea Moss?

A seaweed, sometimes called Irish Moss, often used a a thickener in beverages, puddings, ice cream and more in raw and vegan recipes.

Sea Moss is dried, naturally covered in sea salt and may have bits of darker seaweed attached to it or some sand.

Step 1: Give the Moss a good rinse to remove particulates.

Step 2: Soak overnight in a bowl of water to rehydrate. Use a large bowl as it will almost double!

Step 3: Remove from bowl and discard the water. Rinse again.

Step 4: Add some rehydrated Sea Moss to a blender with some fresh water and blend until smooth.

Step 4: Blend in small batches so you don't overheat the blender.

Step 5: Pour into an airtight jar and store in the refrigerator.

The Sea Moss Gel will firm up in the fridge. Scoop out what you need for a recipe!
